About our Creative Commons License

The web site and printed editions of our books are licensed under a Creative Commons License. This license does not replace the copyright, but supplements it by granting the end-user (that's you) certain rights and privileges without having to ask the copyright holder (that's Kovach Publishing/Stephen Kovach).

Why did I choose to license this work using a Creative Commons License?

The story is uplifting and inspirational and I wanted to make sure that anyone who wants to read this book can do so. For this reason the PDF version of the book is free. You are free to print a copy of the book from the PDF file for your own personal (non-commercial) use as long as you give it away free and attribute the work properly (sending/copying the entire unaltered PDF will fulfill this obligation).

Since professional printing carries a cost this version of the book is not free. I do retain a small royalty but am donating a significant portion of it to the March of Dimes, the Central Blood Bank of Pittsburgh, and the Gloucester Royal SCBU. If you like the book please buy a printed copy.

I wanted to repay the debt I owe to many teachers and educators who have been a part of my life. Therefore, use of this material (electronic version) by educators is free. Print off some pages and use them in your classrooms as long as you attibute the work properly (see FAQ or below).

I wanted to recognise the work of the March of Dimes, Blood Banks everywhere and the Gloucester Royal SCBU because without all their help Rebecca would not have lived. This book is a celebration of life and what good can come from science, technology and people who care whether they be nurses, volunteers, blood donors or educators.
