The Journey of Rebecca Rose

 Synopsis

St Patrick's Day 2002: While millions around the world were celebrating and "wearing the green", Rebecca Rose was struggling just to take a breath.  Born unexpectedly early to her American expatriate family in Gloucester England, she was fighting for her life amid the organised chaos of the neonatal intensive care unit.  Doctors said that at 26 weeks gestation she had little hope of survival yet she beat all the odds to come home 93 days later.

This is her story.

This uplifting and inspiring blog turned blook will touch your heart as you follow the daily journal written by the family to share their daughter's fragile life with grandparents, friends and relatives on four continents and ten states. Laugh out loud, shed a few tears and come along as an ordinary family makes an extraordinary journey of hope.

***** John C. Little of Hummelstown, PA writes:   This is a remarkable book.  Steve Kovach presents a touching account of his premature daughter's birth and early life.  Along the way, he recounts numerous anecdotes of his family's life.  Steve has a remarkable attention to detail.  Many times throughout the book, I was transported to time and place of the events in a way that seemed like I was an actual participant.  There's a particularly poignant story of a simple hike that Steve and his other two children took in the countryside.  It was written in a way that made me wish I had shared the day with them.  Even months after reading the book, I still recall this detail. Highly recommended.

***** Paula B of Slate Lick writes: The book is well written, taking the reader into the heart of this family. Rebecca is a shining star!

Jenny Molnar of Dime writes: TOUCHING AND ENGROSSING, THIS IS THE STORY OF A WONDERFUL FAMILY'S LOVE AND SUPPORT AND THE LOVE AND SUPPORT OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

***** Catherine Klingensmith of Ford City writes: It is a book that is so beautifully written that you feel you're walking right along side the author and feeling all the joy, pain, helplessness and emotion that the family is going through, you will keep turning the pages anxious to find out more and continue with Rebecca's journey in to the world prematurely, you'll find yourself cheering the little miracle of life onward.

Anonymous reviewer: I learned a lot that I didn't know about "preemies" and also gained some insight into the British culture.
