The town of Freeport and the township of South Buffalo Armstrong County

I can only point you to some other pages that locals have created.  Freeport is over 200 years old and was created out of land grants given to soldiers in return for fighting for George Washington.  Mining of coal and salt shaped the early history of the town.  A few oil wells were also dug.  The Pennsylvania Canal came through in the mid 1800's and transformed the town.
